January 19, 2004, Iowa Caucuses More: 12:25 p.m. EST
In the "great minds think alike" department, I was simultaneously e-mailed William Saletan's and Matt Schiller's Slate article lamenting the lack of "raw data", i.e., how the actual caucus-goers would have voted but for Iowa's cockamamie "15% viability" rule, and unlike the (worthless) paper ballots in Florida, there is nothing to recount, and...
Before I could even blink about typing what the hell is wrong with this analysis, Chris of Strata Lucida takes it on. Chris is dead on: this is not a sinister process: in fact, it is a fuck of a lot more open than the smoke-filled rooms and smoke and mirrors George W. Bush used to acquire his party's nomination. And that's the key point: this is a party selection process-- and one state at that. Unlike the Florida recount, the United States Constitution does not require state parties to hold primaries or caucuses-- at all. Chris views the Saletan piece as a partisan hack job-- to divert attention from the Diebold voting machine scandals and scandals to come. While I'm not quite prepared to go that far, it wouldn't surprise me.
Anyway-- the only thing "offensive" about the caucus process is not the process, but that only 3-5% of the state's population will participate in it. But then, we don't take our right to vote nearly seriously enough-- and the G.O.P. couldn't be happier about that.

I am in a moral quandry.
My friend searches for http://cheating.any1in.us/investigation.html investigation on google to screen potential roommates.
He found any1in.us , but did not visit.
I, on the other hand, searched for http://detectives.any1in.us/foster.html foster and found any1in.us.
I went there and found that http://detectives.any1in.us/foster.html foster were easier to find than on google.
Should I tell him that his potential roommate is a http://cheating.any1in.us/cheating-spouse.html cheating spouse ?

Excellent, let me know how it works. I'll add methods for retrieving the rest of your collection too (not just the currently reading and favorite books) as well, so that might be a better option than creating xml feeds for each of these things.

tramadol for pain relief 'Twas midnight, and the UNIX hacks
Did gyre and gimble in their cave
All mimsy was the CS-VAX
And Cory raths outgrabe.
"Beware the software rot, my son!
The faults that bite, the jobs that thrash!
Beware the broken pipe, and shun
The frumious system crash!"
