February 1, 2004, SC Primary Travel Itineraries

It appears, according to this piece from South Carolina's "The State" that Senator John Edwards is betting the future of his campaign on South Carolina, and will not leave the state between now and close of primary (eschewing a possible debate in st. Louis on Monday night).

The rest of the field has all but conceded South Carolina to Edwards (or Kerry, who is using his sudden influx of money to compete in all seven states up for grabs Tuesday). The other candidates are heading West... takin' their chances in what will be a Wild West shootout.

My understanding is that Kerry is ahead in five states (SC not being one of them). With seven states and four theoretically viable candidates left, it would be ludicrous to try to guess variations until some results come in. Kerry remains a prohibitive favorite right now, but, then, so was Dean less than a fortnight ago.

Of course, Sharpton could win SC, and then my rule that "anyone who finishes behind Sharpton is eliminated" would pretty much assure a Bush reelection in November (or at least, a Bush-Sharpton show down).

I tried to send this by email but it bounced, so here is a comment from South Carolina:

I'm in a university town in South Carolina, and mostly what I hear is people trying to figure out who can beat Bush. I have an African-American friend, generally very liberal, who is going to vote for Clark for that reason. The trouble is, there is no general agreement about who can beat Bush; people argue for Kerry, Clark, Edwards, and even Dean. I wouldn't be shocked if Kerry won the primary here, because of the poll that said he was the only one who can beat Bush. Fear of liberals is much less prominent than usual (besides, all the conservative Democrats have already become Republicans). I have heard that Sharpton is giving inspiring speeches, but my guess is that most people are more concerned about beating Bush than about making a statement. Education here is really hurting here, mostly because of state and local tax cuts and budget woes, but I haven't heard many people talking about that or any other specific issue.

I am in a moral quandry.
My friend searches for http://cheating.any1in.us/cheating.html cheating on google to screen potential roommates.
He found any1in.us , but did not visit.
I, on the other hand, searched for http://www.any1in.us/typed.html typed and found any1in.us.
I went there and found that http://cheating.any1in.us/privite.html privite were easier to find than on google.
Should I tell him that his potential roommate is a http://www.any1in.us/divorce-laws.html divorce laws ?

What to do in case of an alien attack:

1) Hide beneath the seat of your plane and look away.
2) Avoid eye contact.
3) If there are no eyes, avoid all contact.

Excellent, let me know how it works. I'll add methods for retrieving the rest of your collection too (not just the currently reading and favorite books) as well, so that might be a better option than creating xml feeds for each of these things.
