New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey abruptly announced his resignation (effective November 15th), outing himself as a gay man. McGreevey joins New York tri-state area fellow governor John Rowland of Connecticut, who resigned a few weeks ago before being impeached by his state legislature in an abuse of public funds scandal.
IMHO, McGreevey will probably be implicated in a bribery and corruption scandal involving his leading campaign donor, Charles Kushner. Or something.
This is just very peculiar.
As Drudge might say... DEVELOPING.
UPDATE: Based on something I glanced at over at Eschaton, it looks like McGreevey is about to be sued for sexual harassment by a certain male employee who was a controversial hire at the time. A governor of a state sued for sexual harassment... what's up with that?
The November 15th date is a clever move designed to allow his successor (who I presume is a Democrat) to take over and finish his term without need of a special election.
