Amidst allegations of expressions of his admiration for Adolf Hitler and of groping half a dozen women, California gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger continued to campaign, undeterred by these allegations.

Here is an excerpt from one of his speeches to a group of Republican loyalists in Orange County:

Simultaneously with this political purification of our public life, the Government of the State will undertake a thorough moral purging of the body corporate of the nation. The entire educational system, the theater, the cinema, literature, the Press, and the wireless - all these will be used as means to this end and valued accordingly. They must all serve for the maintenance of the eternal values present in the essential character of our people. Art will always remain the expression and the reflection of the longings and the realities of an era. The neutral international attitude of aloofness is rapidly disappearing. Heroism is coming forward passionately and will in future shape and lead political destiny. It is the task of art to be the expression of this determining spirit of the age. Blood and race will once more become the source of artistic intuition....

Scwarzenegger also noted that he was in discussions with the "historically Californian" states of Arizona and Nevada regarding the formation of a "Pacific Anschuss", that Oregon had been "historically part of California", and that he looked forward to the glory that could be accomplished during, what he termed, the "Eight Year Reich".

If Arnold is speaking publicly in this fashion, talking about Blood and Race and Reich's ....holy smoke, why aren't people noticing this and speaking out?

I just posted a small item on Granny on Arnold, where I spoke of some of the feelings I have about men in power visiting humiliation on women ... simply because they can. There is also a quote from U. S. News & World Report re his thoughts on ordinary people needing to be told what to do ... this guy is very scary!

But the excerpts you posted would certainly cinch my vote for anyone else on the ticket.
