Here is the "on-the-ground" blog of Casey, an apparent Dean "storm trooper", apparently in Dubuque (that's in Eastern Iowa).
And now, a look at some Iowa newspapers: The Cedar Rapids Gazzette gives us this special sectionon caucus matters; much of the paper itself seems to be "off limits to non-subscribers". Which pisses me off, because there is an article on grain elevator consolidation that looks like a must read.
The nearby Iowa City Press-Citizen gives us its caucus roundup here , noting its own (prescient?) endorsement of John Kerry; it also gives travelogues of the candidates (noting the candidates who ignored it-- Clark, Lieberman and Sharpton, who by-passed Iowa, Moseley Braun who dropped out); the main paper has a piece on late Iowa City campaign appearances by Kucinich and Dean (makes sense: Iowa City is home of the University of Iowa, and young people are these guys constituency).
The Des Moines Register gives us this nice background piece, noting that the Democrats have spent at least $750,000 to upgrade their caucus reporting and tabulation system. The Register also gives us this piece on Robert Ford's new musical comedy, you got it... "Caucus", making fun of the caucus process (hey, that's MY job!)
