We're delighted to have heard from two more Iowa bloggers, joining in the pre-caucus hoopla.

Dave Burge, the Iowa Hawk, will be blogging in from all over the state about the hoopla. I expect Dave will be a one-man Iowan Onion, but I suspect that in parody, the truth will set us free; we get a nice preview of posts to come here. (And we thank Dave for observing that your talking dog is only partially hallucinated).

Also, joining us from Iowa is blogger Jeff Utech of the Stranger In A Strange Land blog, who is kind enough to tell us why he, as a registered Republican, does not care about the Iowa caucuses (and there is a tour bus parked across the street from his house. In that wonderful piece that you will find only here (and, of course, in the post of whoever else links to it), Jeff gives us his reasons... among them, not liking liberal whininess (who does like it Jeff?), misleading advertisements, and well, his party's candidate is pretty much certain to win the GOP caucuses. A nice bit of intelligence I haven't seen elsewhere: former Il Duce and New York City Mayorissimo Rudy Giuliani will be in Linn County, Iowa today. In my uncanny knowledge of Iowa's 99 counties (I know... this one), I know that means the Cedar Rapids area. Well, go Rudy. He is always charismatic and a crowd pleaser, so if you're in the area and know where Rudy will be-- you'll enjoy seeing him (even if you disagree with his politics).

And joining the Iowa fray from her front row seat on New York's Upper West Side, Diana Moon of Letter from Gotham gives us this heartfelt piece on her thoughts on the caucuses (sort of) and why she supports apparent frontrunner John Kerry.
I find many of those arguments compelling, and I suspect Iowa Democratic caucus-goers may as well.

The liberal blog world's man on the scene (complete with own news crew and air force) J. Nelson W. of The Big Picnic gives us this round-up of his recent travels with the candidates in Iowa.
Unfortunately, in the photo he has of Gephardt and Edwards at a rare joint appearance, he doesn't identify which is which, though I think its safe to say that Edwards must be the "youthful ward" guy, and Gephardt must be the one with the scowl... er. cowl.
