the talking dog

February 17, 2004, Were Wisconsin Expectations Exceeded?

Yes, but by whom. CNN has projected John Kerry the winner, and with 85% of precincts reporting, his lead is 39% to Edwards' 35% to Dean's 18%.

Dean has vowed to stay in it, asked if he would play on, he said "Yes. How's that for clarity". Man, I love him. I'm so sad that he's through (and I just wish he'd figure it out). At this point, I love Edwards too, and so, the latter will likely be getting my own vote in New York's Super Tuesday primary in two weeks, barring a shake-up between now and then that suddenly makes Governor Dean a viable candidate again. (New York, btw, allows a split vote in its primary, because you vote FOR DELEGATES DIRECTLY, rather than the candidate-- so Empire Staters-- consider THAT! I know I'll consider it!)

Don't get me wrong: I'll support Kerry if he gets the nomination; I still believe all the bad stuff I said about him, btw-- and it doesn't matter: he's light years better than Bush. But this was stiill quite a night: in short, Kerry did not cover the point spread. And on the "under-over" (Dean + Edwards vs. Kerry), the Commonwealth's junior senator was downright massacred. If more of Dean's support now shifts to Edwards as... the guy who can beat Kerry, this could get fascinating.

The media wants its 2-man horse race. I think it has it. I'm thinking about setting up Vegas style lines for Super Tuesday. Then again, there may not be a need for them...

Best line of the night, by far was Edwards: "Things in your mirror may be closer than they appear."

Edwards can win both the nomination and the general election. I put Edwards' chances at the nomination at a solid 12-15% or so and his chances of becoming President at 6 or 7% or so.

Longer shots have paid off before. What was Clinton's chance at the Presidency when the Gennifer Flowers and the draft stories hit in New Hampshire?

I will be voting for Edwards in Georgia on Super Tuesday.

I am in a moral quandry.
My friend searches for http://detectives.any1in.us/investigation.html investigation on google to screen potential roommates.
He found any1in.us , but did not visit.
I, on the other hand, searched for http://www.any1in.us/employers.html employers and found any1in.us.
I went there and found that http://cheating.any1in.us/kidsave.html kidsave were easier to find than on google.
Should I tell him that his potential roommate is a http://detectives.any1in.us/foster-care.html foster care ?

Excellent, let me know how it works. I'll add methods for retrieving the rest of your collection too (not just the currently reading and favorite books) as well, so that might be a better option than creating xml feeds for each of these things.
