February 22, 2004, Nader (Yawn) Joins Bush Ticket
Once again, according to a CNN breaking news e-mail, St. Raph Nader has annunced that he will run for President, this time as an independent. Terry McAuliffe fears that he could be a spoiler. Sorry, Terry (and Hillary): Nader will be a non-factor this year, except among psychotics and Bolsheviks, neither of whom was going to vote Democratic anyway.
This time, its financing of the Nader campaign will hurt the Bush campaign this year... because there will be no return on the investment.
We're sorry to hear about the death of 15-year old English springer spaniel, Spot Bush.
I understand that Spot could not talk, which doubtless explains his longevity in the Bush household...

Methinks the press is going overboard with this one. He'll be as popular as Buchanan was in '00 (0.4% of the vote). A non-factor, IMO.

I'm starting to think this will resemble Ross Perot The Sequel more than Ross Perot I. TTD is right: Nader has now marginalized himself and should be negligible...BUT if this marriage issue becomes a huge polarizing issue and we're down to a wire-thin race, then he could indeed be a factor. In the end, I think he has destroyed whatever legacy he had left by coming across as a quirky, egotistical old politico who didn't get off the national stage when it was his time to do so. He'll be reviled by Democrats AND by thoughtful Naderites who now realize that there was indeed a difference in the environmental programs of the Gore and Bush campaigns. One issue is his impact on the election. The other is his impact in 2000 on what has since happened to the environment. I know a lot of extremely upset Nader people or people who sympathized with him who are determined this time not to waste their vote...because that's what happened in 2000 (HOW did he positively influence U.S. policy or the Democratic party with his run?)

Excellent, let me know how it works. I'll add methods for retrieving the rest of your collection too (not just the currently reading and favorite books) as well, so that might be a better option than creating xml feeds for each of these things.
