the talking dog

August 6, 2004, The Empire Strikes Out (Part II)

The veep sends me this piece from MSNBC pointing out that the informer just picked up on Pakistan during the Democratic National Convention was actually working as a Pakistani undercover operative working to undermine Al Qaeda, when the United States disclosed his name in order to have a timely opportunity to distract from Kerry's post-convention afterglow. This particular counter-terrorism Pakistani agent was, of course, the source of the "intelligence" used to scare the crap out of millions (including familia TD) last weekend, when Code Orange from Ridge came with specific coordinates.

The brilliantly insidious move also undermined a major British counter-terrorist operation, btw.

Well, we have Plame-- a clear attempt to get one or more undercover American agents killed, to score political points and exact political payback. Now we have this. Its become eminently clear that we have no desire to fight Al Qaeda for the purpose of defeating them so much as to round up "high ranking Al Qaeda officials" at opportune political moments.

I'd actually kind of like to see those responsible for this, who I am sure are high ranking members of the Bush Administration, facing nothing less than the death penalty for this blatant act of treason and aiding and abetting Al Qaeda.
And as you know, I don't believe in the death penalty.

Want to bet that EVERY INTELLIGENCE OFFICER IN THE COUNTRY votes for Kerry? As if their LIVES depend on it!

Sheesh. I simply cannot BELIEVE the idiots we have in DC.

As the bumpersticker says: Bush is scary, vote for KERRY!

"Intelligence and security experts said they were surprised that Washington would reveal information that could expose the name of a source during an ongoing law enforcement operation."

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Now we know why experts hate to be partnered with buffoons.

Worse than buffoons. Venal people who care only for political power and will lie or reveal intelligence sources to keep it.

It was the NYT that got his name and disclosed it. I'd very much like to know where they got that information.
