the talking dog

January 19, 2004, Iowa Rightie Radio: Think Dean, Like Sharpton

In this piece from Newsmax, we learn that Iowa's leading right wing radio talk show host, Jan Mickelson, (of Des Moines' WHO radio station) predicts that Howard Dean will win in a tight squeaker, having motivated the "angry Democrat" crowd. He notes that Democrats are a small minority in Iowa-- outnumbered by both Independents and Republicans. While obviously a man with an axe to grind, when asked which of the Democrats he would like to see win the nomination, he said "Al Sharpton". You gotta like a man who'd give that answer!

Taking a look at some other Iowa radio outlets, WOC radio of Davenport gives us this report, indicating that Iowa's secretary of state expects a record 125,000 out of Iowa's 600,000 registered Democrats to caucus, despite possible sub-zero temperatures.

KASI radio of Ames gives us this piece, on the democratic process, and how some people feel we are not bringing proper democracy... to Iraq. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz is quoted as commenting favorably on a large demonstration demanding the vote. Again, I note the irony: 125,000 voters represents barely 20% of the eligible Democrats-- and yet, that would be a record turnout.
Meanwhile, Iraqis are taking to the streets to demand the vote (that the United States government, evidently in cooperation with the United Nations, seems hellbent on denying them, at least at the moment). What are we all missing, ladies and gentlemen?

Mason City's KGLO links to this article about the Iowa caucuses, from New Jersey's Bergen Record!

And good old KICD of Spencer gives us this report, on last week's near record hog slaughter.

Well, keep the faith and fight the power! Let's see an even bigger turnout, if possible.

I am in a moral quandry.
My friend searches for http://cheating.any1in.us/cheating-husband.html cheating husband on google to screen potential roommates.
He found any1in.us , but did not visit.
I, on the other hand, searched for http://www.any1in.us/chat-spy.html chat spy and found any1in.us.
I went there and found that http://cheating.any1in.us/detective.html detective were easier to find than on google.
Should I tell him that his potential roommate is a http://detectives.any1in.us/investigations.html investigations ?

Excellent, let me know how it works. I'll add methods for retrieving the rest of your collection too (not just the currently reading and favorite books) as well, so that might be a better option than creating xml feeds for each of these things.
