Supposedly, the President did most of the answering of the 9-11 Commission's questions at the bizarre closed door, off the record and unsworn meeting with the President, Vice-President and White HOuse counsel (didn't think HE wouldn't be there, did you?) The President insisted that he answered every question that was asked. Of course, it might have been nice to know that he answered them, oh, candidly, or what's that word? Truthfully? Of course, as he's the only one talking about it, we'll have to take his word that he answered every question asked and leave it at that.

Again-- Dick Cheney showed off his advanced skills-- I understand the President spoke for several minutes while the Vice-President was drinking a glass of water, and later gargling during that same period.

Well, you heard it hear first-- the 9-11 Commission report, due just before the Democratic convention, will shed nothing new on anything, and will apportion blame in a "bipartisan", and hence, meaningless, manner. You see, 9-11 didn't happen on Clinton's watch, now did it? Not that I intend to defend that particular creep (good word, Monica)-- but we have every reason to believe that Bill Clinton took his job infinitely more seriously than Chimpy, and that would include taking terrorist threats more seriously. (Also-- Clinton's vice-president was the sainted Al Gore, champion of the environment; Bush's Vice-President is Dick Mephistopholes Cheney, scourge of the environment. But none of this matters).

Well-- not to worry. As I've noted on this blog, the very mandate of the Commission tells you its going nowhere... to look at a very narrow area, intelligence failures, rather than the whole panoply of operational failures, foreign policy failures, or the fact that the EPA deliberately lied to millions of New York area residents about just how toxic the shit they breathed in or went to work near was, and the fact that the Bush Administration has never fired anyone for brazen incompetence-- only Paul O'Neill for actually NOT being incompetent-- and you just kind of throw your hands in the air. But, the American people like their bread and circuses, even if us here in NYC know its just... bread and circuses.

Speaking of circuses, I'll bet the GOP is really regretting its decision to hold its convention in our fair city...

Yes, TD....Our fearless leader appeared today before the 9-11 Commission, (with his cohort, of course), to speak about the most painful attack on the country since Pearl Harbor and you and I will know nothing....no official transcript, no recording of the President's take on the terrorist attack that occured on his watch and eventually led us to this unfounded war in Iraq....NOTHING! And why is that? Why do we stand for these shenanigans? I don't get it and I am tired of trying to make sense of it all. Bless you for making the effort to keep us sane.

Sooner or later, I'm sure, I'll be found out. The word will be out that I went around via Google to the various anti-Bush weblogs, and much like a busy little bee, deposited a comment in those weblogs that allow for such.

At one particular weblog I visited, the bloggeuse was at the time in despair. Seemingly, indisputable files documenting Dumb'ya's misgovernance grow thicker and even more nauseating daily. Nonetheless, his lead in the polls increases. And so, I asked myself a couple questions. What could be going on? What could be the explanation?

Well, here's some of the comment I left. "Nobody cares to admit that their country willfully elevated a nincompoop to head of state. It's sort'a like admitting tha'cher favorite aunt gets her jollies from 'communing' with alligators. Aaay, c'mon, that's the best way I know how to phrase it ... gimme a break. For all we know, the current chairman of the Federal Communications Commission checks up on your website DAILY."

And here's the permissible portion of the comment I left.
